The FT says Nice is an investor hotspot

The Financial Times says that Nice has become one of the hottest spots to invest in on the Mediterranean, after a four year beautification programme that has transformed this vibrant, exciting city.

Overview of the areas of Nice

Nice, the fifth largest city in France is both the administrative centre of the Alpes-Maritime department and the gateway to the Riviera because of its international airport.

Nice has been a magnet to well-healed tourists for nearly 200 years for a multitude of reasons, including its weather, outstanding geography, beautiful provence hill villages and it's laidback lifestyle.

Renowned for its grace, Nice has in more recent times become a hub for research and development in the computer and science industries with the creation of science and technology parks at Sophia Antipolis.

Nice's is a large enough city not to be effected by the seasonal downturn of other towns on the Riviera. Even in the winter the cafe terraces are filled with people happily drinking and eating, watching the world go by and contemplating the beauty and ever changing environment.

One of Nices largests attractions and the most visited site in the city is the famous flower and food market on the Cours Saleya in the Old Town right near the beach. From here there are wonderful walks along the sea to the Port area and in the other direction following the beach footpath you walk past luxury hotels like the Negresco and Palais de Mediterranee and Nice's more elegant beach clubs like the Beau Rivage.

The architecture of Nice can be astonishing with the wild exaggerations of the belle époque style in the Musiciens quarter or the Baroque influenced villas on the hills of Mont Boron.

Nice is also a city of art and culture. After Paris, it has the most museums in France. The city is animated at night as well as in the day. This is seen in the summer with the Nice Jazz Festival held in the gardens of bourgeois Cimiez, and the flower "war" on the Promenade des Anglais in which participates pick the prettiest women on the Cote d'Azur.

Each day on the Cours Saleya in the venerable Old Town, there is the great flower market where one can also find fruit and vegetables, organic goods and local produce. The redevelopment of the Malaussena quarter north of the train station is attracting buyers from around Europe, while our villas and farmhouses in the Nice countryside are always popular.

Each quarter in Nice from leafy, residential Fabron to the classy Carre d'Or is alive with boutiques and restaurants making the whole city a lively place to visit and stay.
