- The FT says Nice is an investor hotspot
The Financial Times says that Nice has become one of the hottest spots to invest in on the Mediterranean, after a four year beautification programme that has transformed this vibrant, exciting city.
It's very unusual to find a complete villa this close to the downtown area of Nice that has not been divided into apartments. This stately home was built over 100 years ago and like many high status building of its time it has been beautifully built in stone.
The lovely thing about prestige properties like this from the late 1800's is the high ceilings which give this property a sense of graciousness, space and light.
Much of the original detail is still in the house including the Victorian ceiling mouldings, frescos and fireplaces. Included in the spacious 300 sq m2 living space are 6 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, a large separate kitchen and an independent outbuilding.
The property is built on flat land which is rare for this part of the world and a lovely landscaped garden (which could do with a tidy up) surrounds the house.
Like many homes from this era the basement is actually an "elevated cave" which means you have three levels of house with the basement being partly above ground, which means it does get light and ventilation. So all up there are three levels to this building. The property is located just to north of the Place Liberation - a peaceful and tree lined posh area full of Victorian era mansions like this one. This is not the property for everyone because it really is a family home. So if you are thinking of relocating to the Riviera, or just have large family holidays, a friendly family house this close to the city (five minute walk from the tramway) is certainly worth a look.
